FRONTIER

mahogany, concrete

Responding to multiple strata  running through contemporary international politics, from xenophobia to protectionism, these top-heavy tapering forms serve as reminders of twentieth century crises and ask questions about our future. Reminiscent of watchtowers, listening posts or border-crossings, these cast concrete forms, exhibited in the Inland Art Festival's 'Future Project', suggest an arbitrariness to nationhood.

An experimental stop-motion film exploring the structures, and the notion of proliferation, was shown at  'All in One' in Chiari, Italy.
